Sustainable Bond Issuance To Near $1 Trillion in 2024

Here is a report on the global bond forecast by S&P Global Ratings.

  • Their forecasts suggests that sustainable bond issuance, including green, social, sustainability and sustainability-linked (GSSS) bonds issuance will rise to between $0.95 trillion and $1.05 trillion in 2024, up from $0.98 trillion in 2023
  • Green bonds will continue to dominate, as seen with issuance reaching $575 billion in 2023, primarily issued by nonfinancial corporates and the financial services sector.
  • The share of GSSSB issuance from middle- and low-income countries is growing, particularly in Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East.
